From You for You
Newcomer to the scene, Dan Macaulay follows up his debut EP with more open-hearted piano pop and a steady congregational approach. The standout factor of From You for You that it keeps an eye on the trending guitar rock in the worship genre but maintains a distinct ability to set itself apart with cleaner lines and melodic attention. As well, such staples as Keith Everette Smith, Nathan Nockels, Bryan Lenox, and Michael W. Smith took turns on the production reigns giving this “up-and-comer” a pretty impressive entourage. The latter of that list seemed to have lent inspiration for Macaulay’s vocal approach while we can assume that the other Smith and Nockels had a hand in the anthemic yet accessible beauty throughout.
More: Macaulay’s sense of hook is matched only by an obvious heart that constantly reaches out to the Father in this musical offering.
Less: It’s been a long wait since the EP and this full release. Too long.
