Keith and Kristyn Getty
The UK’s (and hey, America’s too) favorite modern hymnwriters, the Getty’s, bring yet another theologically rich selection of worship hymns to the Church. This album captures the essence of what makes the Gettys stand apart and occupy that different space in church music. While some may point to the quality of Keith’s musicianship and the crystalline beauty of Kristyn’s vocals, it is the couple’s deliberate focus on writing and leading congregations in singing songs that are musically memorable and that hold enduring Scriptural truth that sets them apart.
More: There’s something stirring about a rich choir of predominantly male vocals singing familiar songs together. The live vibe is a nice change for the Gettys.
Less: The balance of strong theological exposition and re-imagined hymns leaves little to be desired.
