Many people will remember Joanna Beasley from her American Idol run toward the semi-finals in season two with the moniker of Joanna Martino. Since then Joanna has recorded two pop-oriented albums and has shared stages with the “who’s who” of Christian worship music including Michael W. Smith, Chris Tomlin and Natalie Grant. At times geared toward a youthful audience Loud Love still offers plenty of encouragement with thoughtful and yet confident lyrics.
More: The CD has maturity and an uplifting theme that is both engaging and yet not restrained. There is a lot to like about Loud Love.
Less: Formulaic tunes, though the album production is pristine it would be nice to hear Joanna’s voice let loose and capture the live feel that helped propel Patiently Waiting up the charts.
