Planning Center Online
More: Nice well thought-out redesign; new reporting to comply with CCLI’s rehearsal reporting; series grouping & artwork; and tons more.
Less: Perhaps the next update could include more tools to admin from the iPhone/Android app?
fter much time in design and at least two months in public beta, the most widely used online planning software, Planning Center Online, has released what may best be described as “Planning Center 2.0.” It’s a complete reboot of the product that includes a new look and some increased functionality.
The changes are numerous—but worth plowing through yourself to get acquainted with. See your worship set update in real-time as dynamic “growl”-type popups display when a volunteer accepts or declines while you are working within your pages. While you’re working, you can now choose what information is important and what isn’t and hide and display based on personal preference. Got a new worship team member? Save even more time and add them right from your plan instead of backing out and going to the “People” page and then back into the plan to insert them.
There are tons of additional features that you’ll enjoy finding more about, but the short list includes a dashboard schedule and past plans available at a glance, artwork options for series note improvements and licensing control. Simply put, this kind of update is too intricate and nuanced to rightly cover everything. The true benefit comes in a further development of an already excellent product. As they continue this type of improvement, worship planning becomes more and more intuitive and in sync with the newest technology available.
