Shelly E. Johnson
Maranatha! Music and LifeWay Music

Four tracks are simply not enough of this worship leader’s clear, poignant vocals and genuine worship music. At first listen, it becomes apparent that this singer/songwriter has lived everything she sings. Shelly E. Johnson’s self-titled EP, due out in August of 2012 through Maranatha! Music and LifeWay Music, is both beautiful and worshipful. “The Power of the Cross” is already a proven congregational song. It was awarded Song of the Year at the Gospel Music Association’s Music in the Rockies Conference in 2008 and also picked up by Natalie Grant. “All Things Beautiful,” which speaks of God’s power to create beauty out of suffering, reminds the listener of Romans 8:28. Shelly says, “Thanks be to God, it’s not my place to understand his divine, mysterious and perfect plan. All I know is that He promises to work all things together for good for those who are faithful to him.”

More: This light pop album will furnish women singers on the worship team with delightful melodies, sweet harmonies, and moving, reverent lyrics.

Less: This album leaves the listener wanting more of Shelly Johnson’s worship music, not less. Watch for a full-length project to debut soon.
