Kari Jobe is set to capture more hearts, set lists and listening time with her release, “Where I Find You.” In a God honoring, prayerful, and passionate release that is equal parts intimacy and exuberant uptempo proclamation, exultation, and adoration, Jobe once again breathes her warm, sweet, pure pop/rock. Eminent producers/artists/writers Ed Cash and Matt Bronleewe are at the helm with co-writers from Bronleewe and Cash to Mia Fieldes, Matt Maher, Jason Ingram, Chris August, Lincoln Brewster and beyond, alongside a Who’s Who in Christian music providing accompaniment. Where I Find You delivers beautifully crafted congregational and devotional worship—songs that underscore a God who is present in a life of uncertainty and human frailty (“Steady My Heart”) and trouble and weariness (“Find You on My Knees,” “Here”). Jobe incarnates ways and places to find God and sings songs of consecration (“One Desire,” “Stars in the Sky,” “Rise”), proclaiming his infinite faithfulness and Glory (“Savior’s Here,” “What Love is This”). She also reminds us of our identity and calling as “the light of the world” on “We Are,” already a radio hit. The album’s only cover is “Love Came Down,” a perfect thematic fit.

More: More of the rootsy intro on the album’s first song, and the exquisitely played and mixed instrumentation throughout. We’ll always take more of Kari’s interpretive grace and lovely passion for God evident on “Run to You.” And another helping of the gentle simplicity of “We Exalt Your Name” written and sung with Matt Maher.

Less:  Fairly predictable as far as arrangement and dynamics. With Kari Jobe and this collection of artists, we know it’s going to be great. But it would be nice if they would break some songcraft and structure rules and surprise us.
