Vernon Whaley

Dr. Vernon M. Whaley is Associate Vice President of Program Development and Dean of the School of Music and Worship Arts at Trevecca University in Nashville, Tennessee. He is Adjunct Professor of Music and Worship at William Carey University and Founding Dean of Liberty University’s School of Music in Lynchburg, VA. Whaley is author of Exalt His Name: Understanding Music and Worship Book 1 & 2 (2019) and co-author with Michael Neale of The Way of Worship (2020). Dr. Whaley holds the Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma, Moore, OK; D. Min. and M.C.M. from Luther Rice Seminary, Lithonia, Ga.; D.W.S. from Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA; M.A. from Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro, TN; and B.A. in Vocal Performance and Bible from Welch College, Gallatin, TN. Dr. Whaley is married to Beth, has two adult children, six grandchildren and resides in Mount Juliet, Tennessee.
