Pay Range: No pay, but academic credit where available, access to our events, and a special ‘thank you’ gift at the end of your internship.

The Editorial Intern will support initiatives to help curate, update, and engage global audiences with the objective to maximize:

  • Access to print/digital publications (Worship Leader Magazine and Worshiper Magazine) – in a new and updated digital format;
  • Resourcing the Church with premium content that’s FREE and ACCESSIBLE.

This involves working with the editorial team to develop & execute cohesive initiatives to meet Worship Leaders goals. These goals include driving sustained growth in the number of readers/viewers/participants benefitting from Worship Leader’s products and services, launching initiatives in new media formats including podcasts and video content, and digitizing 30 years of material in order to resurface and re-engage audiences with this timeless content

Functions and responsibilities include:

  • Editorial Internship hands in.Reading, transcribing, and editing content from past magazines, video shoots, and conference speakers. (This gives students an incredible opportunity to consume material that has shaped the modern worship movement over the last three decades.)
  • Project management (create, test, and execute) marketing plans (short and long-term programs) for acquiring new subscriptions, registrations, and emails.
  • Contribute editorial content and ideas.
  • In collaboration with appropriate teams and team members, develop and project manage bonus circulation distribution, and participate on the Song Discovery team and Conference team.
  • Other duties and tasks may be determined and added to this job description.

COMPENSATION

Regarding compensation, there is no pay for this position, but academic credit may be available depending on the institution the intern is attending. This internship will provide training that is similar in nature to an educational environment. Editorial Interns will spend most of their time studying Worship Leader educational materials including past magazine articles and conference educational sessions. The hands-on training provided by this internship is equivalent to what an educational institution provides its students.

Additionally, if the internship is during a period where the National Worship Leader Conference or other Worship Leader events takes place, then Interns are able to volunteer for those events and attend free of charge.

The Editorial Intern is asked to commit to one term (quarter or semester) during their educational calendar and a minimum of 5 hours per week. The internship may be extended to include more than one term at the discretion of your academic advisor and based on the needs/wants of the Editorial Interns course of study. 

Students in a Worship Studies program are encouraged to apply.

At the end of the internship there is no guarantee of future employment, but letters of recommendation will be offered to those Interns that excel at the duties they are assigned.
