Music Review | “All Of My Best Friends” By Hillsong Young & Free

Randy Cross

Roaring into a virus-landscaped world is the fourth album by Hillsong Young & Free, the progeny of Hillsong Church’s SummerCamp.  This joy-filled, massive, 20-track worship experience will leave you breathless as you sense the overwhelming presence of the God who loves you in the middle of the tumult the world seems to find itself.

The singles that have been released in 2020 by Young & Free have amassed over 15 million world wide streams and given them the impetus to launch this latest project, All of My Best Friends.

The album features a plethora of Young & Free’s talented lead worshipers with its 13 live tracks and 7 studio tracks.  With each successive song you get the sense of something new that God is doing with that particular song and you are suddenly transported to a hope-filled place of beauty and awe.  All of My Best Friends has as much a diversity of styles as it does worship leaders lending itself to have something that everyone will enjoy.

Accomplished student praise bands should be able to emulate many of the songs, as all of the songs have charts available at praisecharts.com and try.worshipteam.com.

More:  A breath of fresh air in a world that is desperately seeking hope and truth, All of My Best Friends arrives with inspiration and a spirit that belays the movement by which it was birthed.

Less:  Live albums are sometimes not the best indicator of the value of a song to the church.  A bit more balance of studio and live tracks would have been a welcome variation.
