Music Review | “Draw Us In” By StoneBridge Worship

Randy Cross

Starting with five musicians in 2008, the StoneBridge Worship community has grown to 35 worship artists who lead the Marietta, Georgia church.  Their goal is to create an environment where those who attend are able to “lay their burdens down before the Only One able to relieve them of that weight so they can step into the full life of freedom that has been purchased for them.”

Their debut album Draw Us In completes this mission by using Scripture-based, evocative lyrics to show the listener the relationship between Savior God and themselves.

Highlighting this is “You Make A Way.” This song of hope calls on the spirit of Isaiah 45:2 and provides a meditative spirit as the “crooked paths are made straight.”

This meditative album explores the way God’s hand provides and our response to that guidance and includes several tracks that could be easily arranged for leading in many congregations.

More:  Highlight songs include “You Make a Way” and “All for You”  As the title implies, Draw Us In does a good job of having us contemplate the differing ways by which God relates to His creation.

Less:  The overall tempo of the album leans toward slower songs.  This makes the album more methodical than it actually could be.
