Music Review | “The Distance (Single)” By Gary LeVox

After longtime country music group Rascal Flatts announced their retirement last year, frontman Gary LeVox didn’t take long to announce a new solo venture he was excited to embark on: a faith-based project.

LeVox, far from a stranger to the worship/CCM world with features alongside artists such as Tauren Wells, Natalie Grant, Steven Curtis Chapman and more over the years, says this Christian album is a “bucket-list item” for his career.

The first single from that upcoming project, “The Distance,” is LeVox’s way of uplifting listeners during a dark time in the world.

I know you want to quit and the enemy says to give in / but I promise with God you can go the distance,” the song encourages.

With LeVox’s signature vocal prowess at the helm, “The Distance” isn’t too far from the sound Rascal Flatts fans are familiar with but incorporates the faith element that is close to Gary’s heart and more important now than ever before.

“The Distance” is a powerful solo CCM debut for LeVox and is sure to breathe the hope of Christ into any weary soul that hears it.
