Review by Darryl Bryant

To say that Michael W. Smith, three-time Grammy Award winner with over 40 Dove Awards has been a busy man would be an understatement. With the studio album A Million Lights due for release February 16 and the live worship album Surrounded due February 23 from Rocketown Records, the singer-songwriter over-achieves with the fresh and original “Crashing Waves,” a contemporary worship song proclaiming the unconditional love of God. From the syncopated vocoded harmonies opening – to the anthem building pipe organ bridge with pulsing electric guitar, the tune will rock younger radio listeners and appeal to his adult worship audience as well. “Crashing Waves” is infectious and makes a statement that Michael W. Smith is still on top of his game and willing to take a few risks to reach new listeners. The song vibes with energy and lyrical prowess perfect for launching a Million Lights and encouraging countless hearts so give it a listen.
