Skye Reedy shares the story behind her new single “Can’t Hold Back”

I’ll never forget a significant night at my church a few years ago. I was singing during worship when suddenly I was overwhelmed with a sense of the presence of Jesus right in front of me. In my heart, I could almost feel Him stretching out His hands towards me. I was immediately led to stretch my arms out in front of me and open my hands as a symbol of surrender. As I did, I could feel a deep freedom washing over me. There were weights of worry, fear, and anxiety falling off of me onto the ground. Things I didn’t even know I was carrying, but restraints He wanted to expose in the purity of His presence. In that moment, I was met with a deeper encounter of His love than I’d ever experienced before.

“Can’t Hold Back” is a worship song for the church. It was written from that place of reverence for the holy name and presence of Jesus. Calling our hearts up higher, to shake off any fear and move into a place of faith! God loves us and He is for us. A revelation of the power of Jesus that I experienced that night.

Our world has gone through a great shaking in the last year. Every foundation not built on the name of Jesus has been exposed and God is doing a new and exciting thing. His spirit is moving across the earth in a fresh way — a fresh wind, a fresh fire.

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19

What are you carrying around today that needs to bow to the name of Jesus? Is it fear or worry? Only by His name do the chains of bondage break and we find freedom. It is only by His name that we are saved! I am praying for you today as you read this. Praying for a fresh outpouring and encounter of His love in your life. That you would seek His face and let His glory transform your heart.

God is on the move in your life and the world around you! Be encouraged and hold fast to faith in our sovereign God!
