Sarah Kroger – Ecumenism – Protestants Trying to Convert Catholics and Promoting Unity
Ecumenism – noun – the principle or aim of promoting unity among the world’s Christian Churches. You don’t need to look up the definition of ecumenical or ecumenism because we already did that for you. Now, when we looked it up, we thought we might have seen Sarah’s picture, but alas, we didn’t.
Today’s Worship Sound Bite features Sarah Kroger. She’s a Nashville-based, Catholic Worship Leader and songwriter passionate about building bridges between denominations. Kroger’s love for music was sparked at a young age but the impact of bullying and her struggle with anxiety and shyness hid her musical gift for years. Everything changed when she met Jesus in an intimate encounter through worship at a youth conference and we’re so glad she did. Not only is she a gifted Worship Leader and songwriter, but her commitment to unity brings a needed voice to our community.
1 Corinthians 1:10 says,
I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.
There’s so much division in the world these days, as we all know, that our goal as a family of Believers should be to show the world how we bring unity to our own faith circles given our Scriptures continuously call us to that place of common ground.

With parents involved in worship ministry, Kroger’s love for music was sparked at a young age but the impact of bullying and her struggle with anxiety and shyness hid her musical gift for years. Everything changed when she met Jesus in an intimate encounter through worship at a youth conference; “Worship became my language with God,” she explains. “It allowed me to communicate with the Lord in a way I hadn’t experienced before, there was something about it that opened my heart.” Realizing that music was a gift she desired to give back to the Lord, Kroger began exploring worship leading from then on. Her courage grew along the way and opened up an exciting journey of passionately leading worship for events around the world, drawing people from a variety of cultures and church backgrounds under the banner of Jesus for the past ten years.
