In today’s message-driven world it’s easy to hear something so often that we lose the full impact of its original intent. I often think that with the phrase Worship Leader. Truly powerful in its context, it gets watered down into something “nice” when we hear it over and over, but the meaning is still profound. Think of each word in its own context. Worship. Praising our God and Savior. Worshipping the LORD in spirit and in truth. Adoration, surrender, praising and honoring His glorious name. Now pair that with the idea of leading. Experiencing the amazing, transformative power of worship and inviting others into that same presence, that same meeting space with Jesus Christ, our Creator and Deliverer. Is it any wonder that churches all around the world spend so much energy and effort every week trying to foster an atmosphere where worship can be experienced and people can be led and encouraged to step into that interaction with God?
Of course, it’s a reality that you can’t really lead someone to a place you’ve never been yourself. That’s why it’s critical for worship leaders and teams to be able not only to understand what worship is, but to truly be able to worship the Lord themselves. Not just to lead people in singing, but to lead people in worship. For a worship leader, that means removing distractions. It means putting aside the pulls, struggles and temptations that try and rip us out of worship and into the petty distractions. Unfortunately, that’s where things like tech, sound gear, cables, and instruments can play such a dual role. They either serve as a conduit to help us more fully enter into worship, or serve as things that can go wrong, things that can trip us up in the moment (figuratively and literally), and distract us from our true goal in worship. That’s why at Zamar Instruments the goal is to create instruments that help you worship. Instruments that don’t distract you, but that empower you through their tone, ease of use, and quality. Instruments that help you pour out your heart to God, taking music and gear from being distractions to being tools.
The vision of Zamar Instruments is much more than just a business model; it’s a desire to see worship leaders empowered, encouraged, built up and strengthened. It’s a vision to see instruments that inspire both the current and the coming generations of worshippers and worship leaders. People who have been in the presence of God, worshipped there, and have a desire to lead others into that same place. It’s what drives the pursuit of quality, the attention to detail, the continual desire to innovate and improve. It’s what gives us our name. Zamar is a Hebrew word for “praise” in the Old Testament psalms, one that specifically carries the idea of praising God on a stringed instrument. At Zamar, it’s not about just building guitars, it’s about worshipping the Lord.
Let’s worship together.
