Our Church culture and those of us in the worship world, which should be a phrase that applies to all Believers, but that’s a topic for another day, tend to put a lot more emphasis on the “worship” part of the phrase, “worship leader.”

Worship Leader, Hope UC pastor, songwriter, and Here Be Lions member Dustin Smith shares with us in this Worship Sound Bite how God spoke to him about laying down his guitar for a season and picking up the mantle of real leadership. With that mantle comes the work of a leader, which is to shepherd the flock. 

1 Peter 5:2 (NIV) Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve;
