Worship Song That Has Influenced Dove Nominated Artists The Most in 2022

Joshua Swanson

Once a year the worship and christian music community get’s together to celebrate spreading the gospel through music at the Dove Awards, which are put on by the Gospel Music Association. Led by Jackie Patillo, they have a mandate to spread the gospel through music and this is their capstone event where the community celebrates achievements from the past year.

As people of faith it can sometimes seem counterintuitive to give awards for doing the work the Lord has called you to do, but we’ll leave that debate to the side and focus on the purpose of this article.

Let’s celebrate the amazing influence that worship music has had on people of all faiths and backgrounds by getting just a sampling of some of the most important songs to the Christian artists that are leading the Church today.

Remember Psalm 145 and our charge to pass on the works of God from one generation to the next? Sharing about influential worship music and how a certain song has encouraged an artist is a testimony that we can all get behind as it’s another way to pass on the good works of our Father.

One generation commends your works to another;
they tell of your mighty acts.
They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty—
and I will meditate on your wonderful works.[b]
They tell of the power of your awesome works—
and I will proclaim your great deeds.
They celebrate your abundant goodness
and joyfully sing of your righteousness.

The Lord is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and rich in love.

What is a worship song that has impacted you or your career the most? A song that comes to my mind right now honestly, is The Father’s Song by Matt Redman. I’m gonna throw it. Old school I love. We Fall Down , I love, we fall down at the very, uh, First kinda worship song that we did as a group, as a family was, oh, a thousand Tons to Sing.

Written by David Ben, I Sue Rand. Hi Sue Rand. I’ll speak for where I am right now. Okay. And that is, um, firm Foundation by Maverick City and Tri one of my go-tos is, um, Matt Maher. Lord, I need you. My God is awesome. Charles Jenkins. That’s good. And did you feel the Mountains Tremble from Delirious was the first song I heard that I thought I.

Worship music could sound something like that. Nothing like that. I would think that I would bless the Lord by cage and then after that it was nobody greater for Sean Mitchell. Open the eyes of my heart, Lord Paul . I gotta say, come to the altar. Shout out Maverick City Channel LA More. What’s up Genre right now is mine right now is goodness of God.

Yeah, there is. There is an anointing on that song. Yes, it has to be. God, I look to you first. All that comes to mind is, I think I’d do it from the inside out. My song. Amazing. Yeah. Okay. Anything, honestly, anything. Michael W. Smith. Draw me close to you. Ja. Cardi Cortez. I know he will our, our song that we do with Maverick City.

Wait on, you got me. Do one of the toughest seasons of my life. Greatest life faithfulness. Nope. None. But Jesus Firm Foundation, probably as the deer I always loved, uh, above. Michael W. Smith, Fred Hammond’s, no Weapon, Danny Chambers, and had a song called Closer. Um, I would say it would be more, I would say weight Maker.

I surrender all.
