  • But if his life is the metric and his life IS the metric, then technically Jesus is the most efficient human being that's ever lived on Earth.

In this Worship Sound Bite, Aaron Williams explains that if Jesus lived the perfect life then he truly is the most efficient human ever. It’s a way of thinking about our savior, Jesus, that we’ve never heard before, but makes so much sense. This was our first time sitting and interviewing Aaron, but we hope to get a lot more chances in the future!

Our culture is obsessed with “optimizing” our time and Jesus did that by spending time with people, loving on them, healing them, forgiving their sins, and blessing them. What does that say about how we spend our time? There’s room for strategy and planning, but there needs to be more room for the Holy Spirit.

John 14:26 ESV – But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.

Sitting on leadership teams and in the churches that I’ve been a part of. There’s too many times that I’ve been a part of the team that’s been guilty of rushing to the solution or rush- rushing to the strategy and I think in humility, we’ve got to learn this opposite way, you know, and we think if we’re not careful, we think that Jesus is trying to trick us into not being effective or efficient.

But if his life is the metric and his life IS the metric, then technically Jesus is the most efficient human being that’s ever lived on Earth. He- he was the most missional human being, the most strategic human being, and he certainly accomplished more than any of us are ever going to accomplish. And he models this- like getting away. Getting away.

He’s tired. He get- he gets away with a father late at night. He goes and gets away. And so I think we’ve got to be careful that we don’t like- feel like he’s tricking us into, oh, he’s going to trick me and then I’m going to get fired. It’s like I think he’s- he knows the way. I mean, it’s like the way is like a easy way of talking about Christianity.

He designed the way he’s telling us the way we just don’t want to live the way. You know what I mean?
