“Your voice is like the rushing waters yet with a whisper drowns our fear, The hands that formed the stars of heaven now beckon us to come draw near.”

Worthy Are You compellingly contrasts the attributes of God and reminds us that God is bigger and more than we can imagine; while also being eminently near. The song evokes Philippians 2 and the humility displayed in the kenosis hymn, which culminates in praise, “Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Worthy Are You declares that we serve an omnipotent and all-humble God; one who is worthy of all.
