Internationally acclaimed praise band Planetshakers has unwrapped a musical gift for the holiday season with their latest release, Christmas Chill, Vol. 1. The 5-track instrumental EP, produced and written by Joth Hunt, offers a refreshing take on Christmas classics, seamlessly blending the timeless charm of traditional hymns with the contemporary worship style that Planetshakers is renowned for.

The EP, released on November 24th via Venture3Media (V3M), features instrumental renditions of beloved Christmas songs such as “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Silent Night,” and “O Holy Night.” Additionally, it includes reinterpretations of “Hark” and “All Glory,” tracks from Planetshakers’ recent full-production Christmas album, “It’s Christmas Live.”

Joth Hunt, the creative force behind the project, shares his inspiration for “Christmas Chill, Vol. 1,” saying, “Christmas is a time to reflect on the greatest gift of all, Jesus. Christmas Chill, Vol. 1 is meant to be a nostalgic soundtrack to remember God’s remarkable gift and to be played before the start of our Christmas services, as well as while doing all of our favorite traditional holiday things, like decorating the Christmas tree, sharing meals, and during holiday gatherings.”

One standout feature of the release is the accompanying YouTube video, where all five tracks are presented in a warm, festive setting complete with a live fireplace. The visual experience adds an extra layer of warmth and charm to the instrumental arrangements, creating a perfect backdrop for holiday celebrations.

Christmas Chill, Vol. 1 follows Planetshakers’ 2021 single, “A Very Merry Christmas,” which showcased their musical prowess alongside guitarist Mateus Asato and keyboardist Jesus Molina. This new holiday offering adds another dimension to the band’s diverse repertoire, demonstrating their ability to create music that resonates with the spirit of the season.

Notably, this Christmas release comes hot on the heels of their recent project, Show Me Your Glory – Live At Chapel, a 12-song and 12-video endeavor recorded live in-the-round. The album, recorded in a musically accessible way for smaller gatherings, is a testament to Planetshakers’ commitment to providing diverse musical expressions for worship.

For fans eager to experience the festive ambiance of Christmas Chill, Vol. 1, Planetshakers has made the EP available on all major digital and streaming platforms. The YouTube video can be enjoyed at, offering a visual feast to accompany the auditory delight.

As we anticipate the joyous celebrations of the holiday season, Planetshakers’ Christmas Chill, Vol. 1 serves as a beautifully crafted soundtrack that bridges the gap between tradition and modern worship, inviting listeners to embrace the true meaning of Christmas through soul-stirring instrumental arrangements.
