We Reviewed “Joy in the Morning” by Tauren Wells
One of the hottest Christian artists around is set to release his third studio album, Joy In The Morning, in June. Tauren Wells is the multi Grammy nominee who has leveraged a diverse musical background given to him by his father into a musical firestorm for the current generation of Contemporary Christian radio listeners.
He has released 2 singles from the album, the upbeat, dance driven, “Fake It” featuring Aaron Cole, and “Empty” a melodic ode to the hole inside everyone that demands and is craving to be filled by something.
The Battle Creek, Michigan native is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who wants to say things with his music with which people can instantly relate. “I realized I could make music as inspiring and exciting as Michael Jackson while also talking about things that actually matter to me through this lens of faith and love. Now I can sit down at the piano and talk about what I’m going through and, because of the power of songwriting, someone else can identify with the same thing I’m feeling even though we’ve never met and I’ve never heard their story. That was the thing that propelled me to sing and write and dance and perform and create.” (Rogers and Cowan PMK press release)
Get the Grammy nods ready again because if these two charts are any indication, Tauren Wells will be mentioned again and again as this album will be super good.
With the giftedness that Wells has one would expect his diversity to be showcased. The release of Joy In The Morning would certainly be that opportunity.
