About the Author

Reverend Dr. Mark D. Roberts has served in various capacities as a pastor, writer, retreat facilitator, speaker, and blogger. Since 2015, he has held the position of Executive Director at the Max De Pree Center for Leadership, affiliated with Fuller Seminary. Prior to this, he was deeply involved with Laity Lodge in Texas, serving as Senior Director and Scholar-in-Residence, where he contributed to its diverse ministry efforts in the Hill Country. His pastoral journey includes sixteen years as the Senior Pastor at Irvine Presbyterian Church, located in Irvine, California, approximately forty miles south of Los Angeles.

Dr. Roberts pursued his education at Harvard University, where he earned his B.A. in Philosophy, an M.A. in the Study of Religion, and a Ph.D. in New Testament and Christian Origins. His academic contributions include teaching New Testament courses at Fuller Theological Seminary and San Francisco Theological Seminary.
