I love doing the turkey. Gotta have a good bun. Cranberry sauce. Cranberry sauce. Any type of casserole. Peanut butter fudge. Brisket. Candy yams. Stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes. Green beans, yeast roll, lemonade. Mashed potatoes, creamed corn, green beans and chocolate pie.
Chocolate pie? Yeah. Is that a Southern thing? It’s not, it’s- I never heard of it. Oh, Mylanta. You need to come over. I actually- I mainly eat casseroles. Like, we’ll make like meats and stuff, but I fill up real quick. My family is Italian, so we at least have like ten different casseroles on Thanksgiving.
And so by the time you get through the casseroles, you’re full. Turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole. Gotta have a good bun, you know, like a good bread option. I like a meal that makes sense. I like to have pretty flowers.
Really pretty flowers. I love baking. So anything desserty. Last year, my daughter and I made one of those- it’s a French thing. I can’t- crou- brouche- crouche- bouche- something and it’s puff pastry filled with caramel and put together with- filled with custard and put together with caramel like a big Christmas tree.
And my part failed miserably. My daughter’s part was perfect. So that’s been my favorite thus far. Well, it’s becoming a tradition. I’m going to make it a tradition- is brisket. Is smoking a brisket on Thanksgiving. My Gammy made three tiered Jell-O, which our friend used to call the green stuff.
So you have to have the green stuff at Thanksgiving. Well- what is Jell-O? I don’t even understand what it is. Well, three tiered- I don’t know. What is it made of? How does it do that? I don’t know, but- jiggly and it maintains its shape. I know it’s so weird, but you have to have that and you obviously have to have like sweet potatoes.
I’m a Southern girl, so I have to say sweet potato casserole. Of course. I would say that cranberry sauce is one of my favorite things on some- on stuffing. Stuffing. Cranberry sauce. Do you do turkey? Yeah, we do turkey.
But I- and I like turkey, I feel like it- you have to have turkey for it to be Christmas. But I don’t feel like it’s- I don’t feel like turkey’s anyone’s favorite. Am I wrong about that? Like, I feel like
I could take it or leave it, but it needs to be there. Have you tried fried turkey? You know what, I haven’t. And that- maybe now that I’m in America. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We’re going to get you some fried turkey. Yeah One of the girls we live with is a Canadian. We had a Canadian Thanksgiving last week, and I grilled turkey legs for the first time
and they’re pretty nice. My great grandmother, though, she’d make peanut butter fudge when I was little. She- when she passed away, like, nobody makes the peanut butter fudge anymore. So it’s still a must-have, but I never get it.
If anyone can please give me a peanut butter fudge recipe, I’d love that.
